The executive governor of Oyo state Sen. Abiola Ajimobi has insisted that he has not endorsed anybody as his successor for the 2019 guber election. while appreciating the qualities of all the aspirants that as so far indicated interest to contest the governorship position, he described them as top notch. The governor made this known at an interactive stakeholders meeting with the All Progressive Congress women forum held at the Oke Ado party secretariat Ibadan the state capital today.
According to a communique signed by the party state publicity Secretary and director of media research and strategies, AbdulAzeez Olatunde and made available to Sunrisebulletin.com, Sen Abiola Ajimobi said he is praying for a God fearing successor to take over from him and called for more aspirants to throw their hats into the ring.
Sen Abiola Ajimobi, who is also the leader of the party in the state warned the women against factionalizing the Party with various VANGUARDS or MOVEMENTS, emphasizing that the party belongs to everybody,be it new or old members.
In her goodwill message at the event First lady of Oyo state, Dr Mrs Florence Ajimobi appreciated the state government led by her husband Sen Abiola Ajimobi for the number of women appointed to juicy positions at both state and local government level, describing it as a good gesture.
Mrs Ajimobi implored party executives and leaders to improve on the elective political patronage for women in the state, as 2019 general elections draws near.
Earlier the APC state chairman, Chief Akin Oke and the party’s state women leader Mrs Mabel Williams had welcomed the state governor, His wife and other participants to the stakeholders meeting.
Other dignitaries present at the meeting included Secretary to the state government Ismail Olalekan Alliance, Hon Bolanle Agbaje, Hon Wumi Ladeji, Former House of Reps member Hon Kemi Olunloyo,
Others are former Commissioner, Chief Mrs Kemi Jayeoba Olorunsogo, Mrs Fatima Gidado of Oriire North LCDA and Alhaja Tinu Adigun-Ibadan North local government, the only elected chairperson and the only female local government chairperson respectively,
Also at the event is former state woman leader, Mrs Isijola, The three Senatorial women leaders, Mrs Juwon Adewuyi, Mrs Taiwo Moteleola, Mrs Ajuwon Juliana, from north Central, Oyo South and Oyo North respectively.
Over 200 women from across the state attended the meeting.
