The number of uncollected Permanent Voters Card is enough, if collected to determine who wins the next election in Oyo state.
This was the view expressed by the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Oyo State, Mutiu Agboke while delivering his goodwill message at a seminar organised by the Oyo state chapter, Online Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria, held in Ibadan, Thursday.
Agboke affirmed that with 914,529 PVC uncollected, the figure is a enough for a gubernatorial candidate of the state to win the next election.
The INEC boss reiterated his displeasure at the non-charlant attitude of residents of the state towards collection of their PVC’s. He admonished politicians to encourage their supporters to collect their PVC’s rather than looking for ways to buy voters card.
He gave details of the PVC’s as follows;_“We have 2,954,720 registered voters, we have 248,064 PVC collected, we have 103,737 transferred voters, and unfortunately we have 914,529 PVC uncollected”_ he said.
He then enjoined Journalist to be Professional and ethical in anything they do especially in the aspect of elections reportage. He warned against dissemination of false and unofficial results.
