Aggrieved Youths Storm Oyo Police Command, Demand Immediate Rearrest Of Akinyele Serial Killer Suspect

Some agrieved youths today Wednesday, staged a protest in Ibadan the Oyo State Capital against the escape of Sunday Shodipe, a suspected serial killer in Akinyele Local Government Area of the state.

Some of the youths were sighted with various placards with different inscriptions such as “Oyo Youths Demand For Justice Over Akinyele Killings, How On Earth Could A Serial Killer Suspect Escape From Police Custody, We Want Thorough Investigation On Akinyele Killings, among others.

The protester matched straight to the Police Headquarters at Eleyele area of Ibadan, and demanded explanation from the State Commissioner of Police, CP Joe Nwachuku Enwonwu who was on ground to receive them.

While addressing the angry youth, the CP assured of his readiness to track down the suspect and bring him to justice.

When contacted, the State Police Public Relation Officer, SP. Olugbenga Fadeyi, affirmed that some students protested at the command’s headquarters on Wednesday as a result of the Akinyele serial killer escape from custody.

“As you know students now, some of them got out of control but we were able to handle the situation professionally. They have since gone back to their various places.”
