…..Yaqoub Adesola Vows To Replicate Makinde’s Policies And Programs At LG
The people of Oorelope Local Government Area of Oke-ogun zone in Oyo state were thrown into frenzy of jubilation yesterday when the state Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Local Government Election Screening Committee handed the Caretaker Chairman, Honorable Yaqub Adesola Tasoolo party clearance to contest in the party primaries.
Speaking with Sunrisebulletin.com shortly after the council boss received his clearance certificate, party faithfuls who accompanied ‘Tasoolo’ as Hon Adesola is fondly called, to the party state secretariat in Ibadan on Monday 1st March, 2021, they expressed excitements at the outcome of the screening exercise and vowed to work for the emergence of the council boss at the party primaries.
Speaking on why they were so excited and in jubilation, the PDP loyalists explained that Hon Adesola has proven beyond every reasonable doubt that he is capable of transforming the dreams of the people of Oorelope into reality stressing that what the council boss did in the local government within his short period as caretaker has convinced every true sons and daughters of Oorelope regardless of political divides to bring Tasoolo on board as the executive chairman of the local government.
Hon Yaqub Adesola, in his remark, expressed gratitude to the Executive Governor of Oyo state, Engr Seyi Makinde, for giving him the privilege and opportunity to serve his people in the local government.
He maintained that the assignment before him as caretaker chairman was to simply replicate the developmental policies and programs of the governor at the grassroots level which was evident in the magnitude of results achieved within the short period in the caretaker capacity and affection shown him by the people of Oorelope.
Hon Adesola described Governor Makinde as a ‘fisher of men’, who is providing the ground and platforms for the younger generation to rise and take up leadership roles in the state adding that his passion to leave remarkable and lifelong legacies at the local government has continued to motivate him in following the footsteps of Governor Seyi Makinde.
He also expressed gratitude to the Deputy Governor, Engr Rauf Olaniyan, who he described as his political mentor and leader. Tasoolo noted that the combination of Engr Makinde and Engr Olaniyan, is the most formidable force as Governor and Deputy Governor in the entire country at the moment .
Speaking on some of his achievements as Oorelope council caretaker chairman, Hon Adesola highlighted some of his successes to include N50 million for ten students on University scholarship, free NECO registration for 20 indigent students of Oorelope, scholarship for 4 indigent students at the Oyo state school of nursing and midwifery.
Others include N50 million for primary health care development in Oorelope, N5 million empowerment materials for war against poverty, rehabilitation of boreholes all across wards in Oorelope, rehabilitation of tractors and distribution of farm seedlings and herbicides for farmers in the local government.
Grading of rural access roads and verges within the local government, provision of one patrol van and 11 motorcycles for ease of security operation for AMOTEKUN Corps, resumption of traditional council meetings to maintain peaceful coexistence, prompt payment of salaries, annual leave bonus, and staff welfare.
Construction of cattle store at the kraal market, operation zero potholes: patching of portholes on selected roads within the local government, as well as installation of solar powered street light within the local government.
Hon Adesola, however, vowed to do much more especially in the area of education, local security, primary healthcare system and improvement on the internally generated revenue to boost economic development and improve on its infrastructures.
